What this service does

AskRank sends buyer-intent questions to AI answer engines and records whether those engines named your business, who they named instead, and which sources they cited. It turns that into a score and a list of fixes.

What we measure, stated plainly

We probe each engine's grounded API, not its consumer app. Personalisation, product surface and staged rollouts mean a given person's ChatGPT may answer differently from the API we measure. This is a close proxy, and it is the most reproducible one available — but it is a proxy, and we would rather say so than let you assume otherwise.

Answers from a language model vary between runs. That is why we probe each question multiple times and report how many runs named you, rather than a single yes or no. Your score can move without you changing anything.

What we do not promise

We do not promise that acting on our recommendations will make an AI engine name you, raise your score, or bring you customers. We do not control any engine, and no one can guarantee an outcome inside a system they do not control. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something they cannot deliver.

The impact figure on each fix is a recomputation of your score under today's measurements if that specific gap were closed. It is arithmetic on data we already hold, not a forecast.

Payment and refunds

A full report is a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, who act as the merchant of record and handle applicable sales tax and VAT.

Because a report is produced by spending real money on engine calls the moment you order it, it is delivered rather than stocked. If the report fails to generate, or generates with substantially fewer engines than stated, email us and we will re-run it or refund it. If it generates as described and you simply disagree with the result, we will still look at it with you — tell us what looks wrong and we will show you the raw answers behind it.

Acceptable use

Audit businesses you own or are authorised to act for. Do not attempt to circumvent the rate limits on the free audit, resell access, or use the service to build a competing dataset. Automated access is not permitted without written agreement.

Your account and your data

You are responsible for what happens under your account. We can suspend an account that is being used to abuse the service or to run up cost. See the Privacy Policy for what we store.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits or for business decisions taken on the basis of a report.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
